C.A.S.S. Sheetmetal – Corporate Profile
Custom Architectural Sheetmetal Specialists, Inc. – Detroit, MI
CASS Architectural Sheetmetal Specialists Detroit MI or CASS Sheetmetal as it is known by its clients, has been in the custom sheet metal design, fabrication and installation business in Detroit, MI for 20 years. Not only has the company helped to create some of the most beautiful landmarks in Southeast Michigan, but it has also built a reputation as one of the region’s best contractors. In addition to providing Architectural Sheetmetal Services. CASS Sheetmetal offers all facets of custom sheetmetal roofing as well as other types of custom roofing applications, including copper, metal roofing, slate tiles, shakes and shingles.
President and owner, Glenn Parvin, established CASS Sheetmetal in 1990. Our mission was to create a company that specialized in custom sheetmetal work. It did not take long for its reputation for uncompromising quality to lead the company to very large and prestigious projects. In order to succeed in custom sheetmetal fabrication, CASS Sheetmetal decided it would be necessary to partner with some of the best metal roofing and metal siding system manufacturers, such as Berridge, Petersen Aluminum Corporation, BEMO USA and Centria. CASS Sheetmetal got started with some of these primary metal roofing manufacturers because they needed structural standing seam panels backed by a manufacturer’s water tightness warranty. These manufacturers’ systems gave CASS Sheetmetal the manufacturing control and support they needed. By partnering with such businesses, CASS Sheetmetal has become one of the largest architectural sheetmetal companies in the state of Michigan. With two portable standing-seam panel roll formers, one double lock standing-seam roll former, one double-lock batten system roll former, two computer bending machines, multiple shears, press breaks, hand breaks, and welding equipment, CASS Sheetmetal operates a 10,00-square-foot sheet metal fabrication shop capable of handling almost any custom fabrication sheet metal project.
CASS Sheetmetal grew out of an existing commercial roofing and sheetmetal company and had developed a reputation for our ability to handle metal roofing and sheetmetal challenges in the local industry. CASS Sheetmetal was created to capitalize on that reputation and develop a stand-alone specialty firm to market and promote metal roofing and other types of custom architectural sheetmetal. Thanks to strategic partnerships with quality companies like Berridge and Petersen Aluminum, and experienced, dedicated employees, CASS Sheetmetal has never had to say we couldn’t do a job!
C.A.S.S. Sheetmetal is a Uniquely Qualified Contractor!
CASS Sheetmetal employs 20 to 30 sheet metal journeymen from the Local 80 Sheet Metal Workers Union, which is no small accomplishment in today’s construction market. The company also employs two estimators/project managers and two administrative employees. One testimony to its success is the fact that it was able to sustain manpower levels over the past two years, while many companies suffered layoffs.
CASS Sheetmetal is uniquely qualified to perform some of the most intricate and difficult work with an unmatched level of quality and precision. It’s no coincidence that when there is a high profile project in Southeast Michigan requiring an architectural sheetmetal contractor, CASS Sheetmetal is the go-to contractor called for the project. “Attention to detail, craftsmanship and unparalleled ability to provide whatever the project requires, has made CASS Sheetmetal the benchmark for the architectural sheetmetal business” says Glenn Parvin. “Instead of focusing on profits, pricing and bottom lines, we always try to make sure we do our work as well as it can be done”. “Implementing a high level of quality craftsmanship into each project often produces repeat customers and plenty of business which should equate to profits at the end of the year”.
Though 21 years in business has given CASS Sheetmetal many things to be proud of, they take the most pride in the projects that they’re currently working on or have recently finished. Projects like “The Palace of Auburn Hills” included crafted custom composite panels from flat stock to clad the ornate canopies on the main entrances, as well as the custom foam wall siding panel installation. CASS Sheetmetal is also responsible for one of Michigan’s largest historical restoration projects encompassing over 180,000 pounds of copper installed on a custom batten double-lock standing seam and flat-seam copper roof originally constructed in the 1920’s for Cranbrook Schools in Bloomfield Hills, MI. The $4 million project took CASS Sheetmetal about 18 months to complete. Creative problem solving and relentless attention to detail by gifted qualified craftsmen were some of the keys to success in the eyes of a very demanding project. Recently CASS was voted by Skanska USA as one of its top 30 contractors, making it the only roofing and sheetmetal contractor to be included in this prestigious award for 2006.
In addition to the company’s extensive variety of services, CASS Sheetmetal brings innovative problem solving and an unsurpassed history of quality workmanship to each project. CASS Sheetmetal strives to give more than what is required by the specifications and the expectations of our contractors and owners. CASS Sheetmetal has historically provided a higher quality than the standard. As competitors have come and gone, it’s become clear that skilled craftsmen are still paramount to survival.
